Curriculum
The College @ WBS has been specifically crafted to prepare students to meet the demands of ministry today with a deep foundation of biblical interpretation, theological understanding, and ministry insight. The general core of the curriculum gives students a robust grasp of intellectual disciplines that will increase their capacity and allow them to engage with the world at a deeper level.
Bible
24 Credits
Learn the culture, history, and meaning of each section of the Bible, while developing tools to study the Bible for your own life and ministry.
Theology
27 Credits
Gain a deep knowledge of God’s nature and work in this world through the study of Scripture and the writings of significant Christians in history.
Ministry
30 Credits
Develop essential skills that will prepare you to effectively serve in any ministry context.
General Core
39 Credits
Establish an intellectual foundation for Christian ministry and leadership by studying literature, science, history, and communication.
How courses work
Courses are available how you need them when you need them. With on-campus, real-time video, and asynchronous options available, you will be able to earn your BA in Ministry no matter what your schedule is.
On Campus
Courses will be offered on campus at our Ridgeland, MS campus. Study in person with our world-class professors and build face-to-face relationships with other students.
Via real-time video
No matter where you live, you can participate in the live courses via real-time video. Your video will be live in the classroom, and you’ll be able to interact and ask questions of the professor. It’s the same quality education wherever you are.
Asynchronous
If your schedule doesn’t work with a particular course, you can watch the recordings and complete some additional work on your own time without getting behind.
Meet some of our professors

Dr. Adely Charles (DWA, Liberty University)
Dr. Charles has a doctorate in Worship Studies from Liberty University and teaches courses related to worship. He is part of the Salvation Army and is from Haiti (born in Montreal, Canada). He is passionate about discipleship and mentoring muscians.

Rev. Marshall Daigre (MDiv, Wesley Biblical Seminary)

Dr. Scott Engebretson (PhD, Asbury Theological Seminary)
Dr. Scott A. Engebretson is Teaching Pastor at Mile High Vineyard in Denver, Colorado. He has a PhD in Old Testament, a ThM from Princeton, and an MDiv from WBS.

Dr. Chris Lohrstorfer (PhD, Manchester University)
Dr. Lohrstorfer teaches biblical theology and systematic theology courses. His focus is on Wesleyan theology. In addition to his teaching, he pastors a local church.

Dr. Matt O'Reilly (PhD, University of Gloucestershire)
Dr. O’Reilly is both a professor and a pastor. He teaches courses on New Testament and pastoral ministry. Dr. O’Reilly is the author of multiple books and numerous academic essays.

Rev. Doris Whitaker (MDiv, Wesley Biblical Seminary)
Rev. Whitaker is the former Director of Chaplaincy at UMMC. Her expertise is in leadership, chaplaincy training, and building kingdom relationships. She is an associate pastor at Harvest Celebration Evangelistic Church and is completing her DMin at WBS.

Wesley Biblical Seminary is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation. The ABHE is the primary accrediting body for Bible colleges in the US and Canada.
